- Summary
- Captain Crewe goes off to the war with the Boers, and leaves his daughter, Sara, in Amanda Minchin's school. Sara is immediately dubbed The Little Princess because of her regal bearing and attitude. When word comes her father has died in Africa, Sara refuses to believe it. Penniless, she is made a galley slave by Miss Minchin, who mistreats her in every way possible. Sara haunts the army hospitals examining all the invalided soldiers. Eventually she finds her father, wounded and with loss of memory. Her recognition snaps him back to health
